Mango Modak

Servings - 3 - 4

INGREDIENTS
Mangoes - 250 grams
Saffron - 1/2 teaspoon
Warm water - 2 tablespoons
Ghee - 30 milliliters
Khoa - 300 grams
Sugar - 60 grams
Desiccated coconut - 40 grams
Almonds - 2 tablespoons
Pistachios - 2 tablespoons
Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon

PREPARATION
1. In a blender, add 250 grams mangoes and blend it into a puree. Keep aside.
2. In a bowl, add 1/2 teaspoon saffron, 2 tablespoons warm water and mix it well.
3. Soak for 30 minutes.
4. Heat 30 milliliters ghee in a skillet, add the blended mango puree and mix it well.
5. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
6. Then, add 300 grams khoa, 60 grams sugar and mix it well.
7. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
8. Add 40 grams desiccated coconut and mix it well.
9. Now, add 2 tablespoons almonds, 2 tablespoons pistachios and mix it well.
10. Add 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder, soaked saffron and mix it well.
11. Cook for another 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
12. Remove it from heat and allow it to cool for about 2 - 3 hours.
13. Take some mixture in your hands and shape it into a modak.(See Video)
14. Make a pattern with the help of a toothpick.
15. Serve.

Nutella Modak

Servings - 3 - 4

INGREDIENTS
Parle-G biscuits - 210 grams
Cashews - 45 grams
Milk - 220 milliliters
Nutella - 55 grams
Condensed milk - 100 grams

PREPARATION
1. In a blender, add 210 grams parle-g biscuits, 45 grams cashews and blend it into a fine powder.
2. Keep aside.
3. Heat 220 milliliters milk in a pan, add 55 grams nutella and mix it well.
4. Bring it to a boil.
5. Add 100 grams condensed milk and mix it well.
6. Bring it to a boil.
7. Boil for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
8. Remove it from heat and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.
9. In a bowl, add the blended parle-g biscuits, prepared nutella syrup and mix it well.
10. Knead it into a dough.
11. Take some mixture in your hands and shape it into a modak.(See Video)
12. Make a pattern with the help of a toothpick.
13. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
14. Serve.
