Baked Namak Para With Roasted Almond Dip
Servings - 2 - 3
INGREDIENTS
All purpose flour - 250 grams
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Carom seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Oil - 50 milliliters
Water - 100 milliliters
Almonds - 35 grams
Tomato - 45 grams
Garlic - 1 teaspoon
Dried basil - 1 teaspoon
Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
Lemon juice - 15 milliliters
Coriander - 2 teaspoons
PREPARATION
- In a mixing bowl, add 250 grams all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon carom seeds, 50 milliliters oil and mix it well.
- Add 100 milliliters water and knead it into a smooth soft dough.
- Rest the dough for 20 minutes.
- Take a pan, add 35 grams almonds and dry roast for 2 - 3 minutes on medium heat.
- Remove it from heat and place it on a mortar.
- Crush them with the help of a pestle. Keep aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add 45 grams tomato, 1 teaspoon garlic, 1 teaspoon dried basil, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, crushed almonds, 15 milliliters lemon juice, 2 teaspoons coriander and mix it well. Keep aside.
- Take a ball from dough and flatten it with the help of a rolling pin.
- Cut out diamonds shape from it. (See Video)
- Place it on a baking tray.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C. Bake for about 15 - 20 minutes.
- Remove it from oven and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.
- Serve with prepared dip.
