Bombay Style Sandwich
Servings - 2 - 3
INGREDIENTS
Oil - 1 tablespoon
Cumin - 1 tablespoon
Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon
Ginger garlic paste - 2 teaspoons
Green chili - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon
Boiled mashed potatoes - 350 grams
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Coriander - 1 tablespoon
Oil - for shallow frying
Bread slices
Butter - for brushing
Green chutney - to taste
Red chutney - to taste
Sev - to taste
Cucumber - to taste
Chaat masala - to taste
Boiled beetroot - to taste
Onion slices - to taste
Bell pepper - to taste
Tomato slices - to taste
PREPARATION
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet, add 1 tablespoon cumin and stir well.
- Add 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida, 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste, 1 teaspoon green chili and stir for 1 - 2 minutes.
- Add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric and stir again.
- Then, add 350 grams boiled mashed potatoes and mix it well.
- Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
- Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and mix it well.
- Add 1 tablespoon coriander and mix it well.
- Cook for another 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
- Remove it from heat and keep aside.
- Transfer this into a bowl.
- Take some mixture in your hands and shape it into a tikki.
- Heat some oil in a pan, add the prepared tikki on it.
- Cook until it turns golden brown in color from both sides.
- Remove it from heat and drain it on an absorbent paper.
- Take 2 bread slices and brush it with butter.
- Add some green chutney and red chutney on it and spread it evenly.
- Now, add the prepared tikki on it and crush it with the help of a spoon.
- Garnish with some sev.
- Add cucumber slices on it.
- Sprinkle some chaat masala on it.
- Add boiled beetroot slices on it.
- Sprinkle some chaat masala on it.
- Add onion slices on it.
- Sprinkle some chaat masala on it.
- Add bell pepper on it.
- Sprinkle some chaat masala on it.
- Add some tomato slices on it.
- Sprinkle some chaat masala on it.
- Cover it with another slice of bread.
- Cut it into pieces.
- Spread some butter, green chutney and red chutney on it.
- Garnish with sev.
- Serve.
