Homemade Masala Dosa

INGREDIENTS
Oil - 1 tablespoon
Spilt bengal gram - 1 teaspoon
White lentils - 1 teaspoon
Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon
Curry leaves - 1 teaspoon
Green chilli - 1 teaspoon
Ginger - 1 teaspoon
Onion - 50 grams
Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon
Boiled mashed potatoes - 400 grams
Water - 50 milliliters
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Coriander - 1 tablespoon
Dosa mixture - 160 grams
Yogurt - 120 grams
Water - 250 grams
Butter - for brushing
Onion - to taste
PREPARATION
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan, add 1 teaspoon spilt bengal gram, 1 teaspoon white lentil, 1 teaspoon mustard seeds and stir well.
- Now, add 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida, 1 teaspoon curry leaves, 1 teaspoon green chili, and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Then ,add 1 teaspoon ginger, and give it a stir.
- Add 50 grams onion and cook until translucent.
- Add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric and give it a mix.
- Now, add 400 grams boiled potatoes and mix well.
- Now, add 50 milliliters water and 1 teaspoon salt and mix well.
- Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
- Remove the pan from heat and keep aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add 160 grams dosa mixture , 120 grams yogurt and 250 milliliters water.
- Mix well to make a thick batter.
- Heat a griddle pan and pour a ladle full of dosa batter and spread gently.
- Add some butter over it.
- Cook on moderate heat for 2 - 3 minutes.
- Place prepared stuffing on it and spread it over the dosa.
- Sprinkle some onions over it.
- Fold it gently.
- Remove it from pan.
18. Serve hot with sambar and coconut chutney.
