INGREDIENTS

Boiled kidney beans - 500 grams

Oil - 2 tablespoons

Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon

Onions - 100 grams

Ginger - 1 teaspoon

Garlic - 1 teaspoon

Green chili - 1 teaspoon

Red chili - 1 teaspoon

Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon

Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon

Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon

Salt - 1 teaspoon

Crushed black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Boiled mashed potatoes - 270 grams

Paprika - 3/4 teaspoon

Coriander - 1 tablespoon

Mint - 1 tablespoon

Bread crumbs - 1 1/2 tablespoons

Salt - 1/2 teaspoon

Oil - for shallow frying

PRPEARATION

1. Take 500 grams boiled kidney beans and blend it into a paste.

2. Keep aside.

3. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan, add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric and stir well.

4. Add 100 grams onions and fry till translucent.

5. Now, add 1 teaspoon ginger, 1 teaspoon garlic, 1 teaspoon green chili and saute for 2 - 3 minutes.

6. Then, add 1 teaspoon red chili, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon cumin powder,1/2 teaspoon garam masala, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon crushed

black pepper and mix it well.

7. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes.

8. Add the blended kidney beans in it and mix it well. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on low heat.

9. Now, add 270 grams boiled mashed potatoes, 3/4 teaspoon paprika and mix it well.

10. Transfer this mixture into a bowl.

11. Add 1 tablespoon coriander, 1 tablespoon mint, 1 1/2 tablespoons bread crumbs, 1/2 teaspoon salt and mix all the ingredients well.

12. Make equal sized balls from the mixture and flatten slightly.

13. Heat oil for shallow frying in a pan and place the tikki in it. Cook till golden brown and flip gently and cook the other side too.

14. Serve hot with ketchup.
