Aloo Matar Wadiyan

INGREDIENTS
Oil - 45 milliliters
Urad dal wadi - 100 grams
Onions - 250 grams
Garlic - 2 teaspoons
Ginger - 2 teaspoons
Tomato - 310 grams
Green chili - 2
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Cumin - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt - 1 1/4 teaspoons
Red chili - 1/2 teaspoon
Water - 800 milliliters
Green peas - 200 grams
Potatoes - 465 grams
Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
Coriander - 1 tablespoon
PREPARATION
- Heat 45 milliliters oil in a pan, add 100 grams urad dal wadi and fry for 8 - 10 minutes on medium heat.
- Remove it from heat and keep aside.
- In a blender, add 250 grams onions, 2 teaspoons garlic, 2 teaspoons ginger and blend it into a paste.
- In a blender, add 310 grams tomato, 2 green chili and blend it into a paste.
- Heat 30 milliliters oil in a heavy skillet, add 1 teaspoon cumin and stir well.
- Then, add the blended onion puree and mix it well.
- Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
- Now, add the blended tomato puree and mix it well.
- Cook for another 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
- Add 1//2 teaspoon turmeric and stir well.
- Add 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon cumin powder, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, 1 1/4 teaspoons salt, 1/2 teaspoon red chili and mix it well.
- Then, add 800 milliliters water and mix it well.
- Bring it to a boil.
- Now, add 200 grams green peas, 465 grams potatoes and mix it well.
- Cover it with lid and cook for about 10 - 15 minutes on medium heat.
- Open the lid and give it a nice stir.
- Add the fried urad dal wadi in it and mix it well.
- Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
- Add 1 teaspoon garam masala and mix it well.
- Cover it with lid and cook for about 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
- Open the lid and give it a nice stir.
- Add 1 tablespoon coriander and mix it well.
- Cook for 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
- Remove it from heat.
- Garnish with coriander.
- Serve hot.
