Palak Shalgam Sabzi

INGREDIENTS
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
Garlic - 1 1/2 tablespoons
Ginger - 1 1/2 tablespoons
Onions - 160 grams
Tomato - 220 grams
Green chili - 1 tablespoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Red chili - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Turnip - 730 grams
Spinach - 360 grams
Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
PREPARATION
- Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a heavy skillet, add 1/2 teaspoon cumin and stir well.
- Add 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic, 1 1/2 tablespoons ginger and stir again.
- Then, add 160 grams onions and fry till translucent or until it turns golden brown in color.
- Now, add 220 grams tomato and mix it well.
- Cover it with lid and cook for about 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
- Open the lid and give it a nice stir.
- Add 1 tablespoon green chili, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon red chili, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric and mix it well.
- Then, add 730 grams turnip and mix it well.
- Cover it with lid and cook for about 15 - 20 minutes on medium heat.
- Open the lid and give it a nice stir.
- Now, add 360 grams spinach and mix it well.
- Cook for 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
- Add 1 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon garam masala and mix it well.
- Cover it with lid and cook for about 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
- Open the lid and give it a nice stir.
- Cook for another 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
- Remove it from heat.
- Serve hot.
