Dum Paneer

INGREDIENTS
Curd - 300 grams
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili - 1 teaspoon
Oil - 35 milliliters
Onions - 200 grams
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Cinnamon stick - 1
Cloves - 3 pods
Cardamom - 3 pods
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
Green chili - 1 tablespoon
Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Fresh cream - 70 grams
Water - 300 milliliters
Paneer - 350 grams
Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander - 1 tablespoon
PREPARATION
- In a mixing bowl, add 300 grams curd, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon red chili and mix it well.
- Heat 35 milliliters oil in a pan, add 200 grams onions and fry till translucent or until it turns golden brown in color.
- Transfer this into a blender and blend it into a paste.
- Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a skillet, add 1 cinnamon stick, 3 pods cloves, 3 pods cardamom, 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste and stir for 1 - 2 minutes.
- Then, add the blended onions in it and mix it well.
- Cook for 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
- Add 1 tablespoon green chili, 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder, 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder and mix it well.
- Now, add the curd mixture in it and mix it well.
- Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat.
- Add 70 grams fresh cream and mix it well.
- Then, add 300 milliliters water and mix it again.
- Bring it to a boil.
- Now, add 350 grams paneer and mix it well.
- Cover it with aluminium foil and place the lid on top of it.
- Cook for 10 - 15 minutes on medium heat.
- Open the lid and remove the aluminium foil.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, 1 tablespoon coriander and mix it well.
- Cook for another 3 - 5 minutes on medium heat.
- Remove it from heat.
- Garnish with coriander.
- Serve hot.
